London Marathon 2008

The 2008 Flora London Marathon takes place on Sunday 13th April and Jesuit Missions has a team of 25 runners aiming to raise £40,000 for our project work overseas.

You can sponsor the runners by sending a cheque to Jesuit Missions or using any of the Just Giving links below to make a secure donation on-line. The main justgiving page for the team can be found at www.justgiving.com/timcurtis

The team this year includes:

* Tim Byron SJ – Chaplain at St Ignatius College, Enfield, raising funds for the work at St Ignatius School in Dodoma. www.justgiving.com/runfordodoma
* Tim Curtis SJ - Director of Jesuit Missions, Wimbledon. www.justgiving.com/timcurtis
* Robert Dolina SJ from Slovenia is aiming to tackle the London Marathon after years of running in smaller races.
* Dermot Dooley – Old Wimbledonian and volunteer in Tanzania, running as one of the Wombles to raise funds for the work in Mwanze. www.justgiving.com/dermotdooley
Anthony Duffy is running in support of Jesuit Missions.
* Anthony Eyre was inspired by his son’s commitment to volunteer for XVP in Guyana. www.justgiving.com/anthonyeyre
* Terri Finch: looking forward to her first marathon and raising funds for a very worthy cause.
* Farouk Gohil will support the Notre Dame Refugee Centre that provides legal services to refugees.
* Raphael Gonsalves SJ, a scholastic from Guyana, has been persuaded to run in support of the work in Guyana.
* Nick Grover, a parishioner from Wimbledon and currently a student in Bristol. http://www.justgiving.com/nickgrover
Paul O'Reilly SJ is tackling his second marathon to raise funds for the work in Guyana
* Patrick Groves, a teacher at St Ignatius College, Enfield who is aiming to raise funds for their link school in Dadoma.
Rampe Hlobo SJ from South Africa: his third marathon for Jesuit Missions, this year for St Martin’s School Redevelopment in Soweto. www.justgiving.com/rampe
David Hurst is attempting his second marathon, raising funds for Makumbi Mission in Zimbabwe where he was a volunteer in the 80s. www.justgiving.com/davidhurst1
* Jan Janoszka is supporting the work of the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) in the UK.
* Theodollar Kapikinyu grew up in Makumbi Mission in Zimbabwe and is running to raise funds for it.
* Rosalind Kieran, a medical student in London and supporting overseas development projects. www.justgiving.com/rosalindkieran
* John McCann, a deacon at St Wilfrid’s Parish in Preston.
Stuart Mills, his first marathon for Jesuit Missions since 2000.
* Paul Nenjerama, the headmaster of Hartmann House in Harare, will be raising funds for the school’s Jubilee Appeal.
* Jonathan Sharples, a teacher at Stonyhurst, is supporting St Peter’s Kubatana in Zimbabwe.
* Kerry Louise Stevens is from Preston and is raising funds for Jesuit Missions. www.justgiving.com/kerrystevens
Brian Thursby-Pelham - aka the fastest Womble runner of all time - is making a return to the team since his last run 10 years ago.
